Tick Treatments for your lawn
Ticks are more than just a nuisance—they're a genuine health concern for your family and pets, capable of transmitting Lyme disease and other illnesses right in your own backyard. They tend to gather in the shaded, humid areas of a property: tall grass, leaf litter, ground cover, and the transition zones where your lawn meets wooded areas or garden beds. Because they wait at the edges of these spaces for a host to brush past, the perimeter of your yard is often where exposure risk is highest, even on a well-kept lawn.
Our tick control program targets these problem areas with treatments timed to the seasons when ticks are most active, helping reduce populations before they have a chance to multiply. Combined with a few simple landscape practices—keeping grass mowed, clearing leaf litter, and maintaining a clean edge between your lawn and adjacent wooded or brushy areas—regular treatments can dramatically lower the tick pressure on your property. Nutsedge Management
Nutsedge is a very aggressive and persistent weed that commonly infests lawns, gardens, and home landscapes during the warmer months, and it can be a real challenge to eradicate once established. While it resembles grass at first glance, you can identify it by its triangular, V-shaped stems and, in the case of yellow nutsedge, by tall lime-green shoots that protrude two to three inches above your healthy grass blades. Most nutsedges are perennial: they survive in the soil, sprout in spring, and die back in fall as temperatures drop. Their tubers (often called "nutlets") and underground rhizomes can grow eight to fourteen inches below the surface, allowing a single plant to spread into patches ten feet or more in diameter.
Successful management of nutsedge involves both cultural and chemical control. Because nutsedge thrives in moisture, its presence can be a sign that irrigation is too frequent, that drainage is poor, or that sprinklers are leaking—so proper watering rate and timing are essential. We recommend watering deeply but infrequently to let the surface soil dry out between applications. On the chemical side, nutsedge can be controlled with postemergence herbicides applied while it's actively growing in warm conditions. However, these products can't be applied in hot or dry weather above 90°F without risking injury to your turfgrass. This is why our technicians may sometimes be on your property to fertilize but unable to treat nutsedge that same day—timing and temperature have to be right to protect your lawn.
Lawn Fungus Solutions
Lawn fungal disease can take on a variety of forms, all of which originate within your lawn's soil and are triggered by outside environmental factors. Over the past several seasons, we've seen a steady increase in disease pressure as warm, humid conditions have favored fungal development. Left untreated, fungus can create unsightly brown spots, inhibit growth, and in worst cases destroy a lawn entirely. The tricky part is that by the time most homeowners recognize a problem, the damage is often already done—one summer of disease can undo years of hard work and investment in a beautiful lawn.
That's why prevention is at the heart of how we manage turf disease. Our fungicide program is designed to work as both a preventative and a curative treatment, helping maintain the health and vitality of your lawn during the high-pressure summer months. It includes three treatments across June, July, and August and is built to coincide directly with our 6-step lawn program. It's important to understand that curative applications cannot reverse damage to tissue that's already yellow or brown—they protect healthy and new growth that hasn't yet been struck by disease—which is exactly why getting ahead of the problem matters. Simple practices like watering early in the morning (before 5 a.m.), avoiding midday irrigation, preventing saturation, and mowing at a height of 3.5–4 inches with sharp, clean blades all go a long way toward keeping fungus at bay.
